World Coconut Day

A material when left alone, does nothing, they require the hand of a child to bring them to life. Materials require the child to use their imaginations or experiences. Children use their imaginations to transform the open-ended materials into wonderful creations and leave us in awe… Many materials used in a Reggio inspired learning are easily found in nature, in art/craft and hardware stores.

This year on World Coconut day our learners made use of the most common open-ended material the coconut shells and parts of coconut tree to celebrate World coconut day and to enhance their learning experience. They gathered the knowledge of the myriad benefits that coconut trees provide us and how coconuts are considered to be a wonder fruit.
